Accomplishments

The new 11th District was formed as a result of the 2020 U.S. Census.  The District consists largely of communities that made up the former 11th Congressional District and the former 14th Congressional District.  Each of those districts had a long history of accomplishments to advance conservative political issues.

As a start, the new 11th District can list these early accomplishments since its leadership team was elected in February 2023:

  • Converted and combined the two previous district’s websites, Facebook, Twitter, Telegram and related email lists into unified tools
  • Created a new Instagram account
  • Approved new District by-laws
  • Conducted a Committee survey to help form the direction through 2024

In time, the new 11th District will expand its own significant list of accomplishments.  To recognize the history of its two principal founding districts, summaries of their recent accomplishments are below:

Old District 11

  • FUNDRAISERS
      • Karamo for Secretary of State fundraiser
      • Hosted Turning Point USA’s founder Charlie Kirk in a Troy, MI fundraiser
      • Pancake breakfast featured Scott Pressler in a Commerce, MI fundraiser
      • Pancake breakfast featured Oakland County Sheriff Bouchard fundraiser
      • Community outreach events that raised over $8,000 for local non-profits
      • Hosted a Halloween “Masquerade Ball” fundraiser at the Heathers.
      • Hosted a Luau fundraiser where each of the 2022 gubernatorial candidates spoke
      • Hosted an ice cream social fundraiser
  • INFRASTRUCTURE
      • Launched a content rich website to keep Precinct Delegates up to date on District issues
      • Created Facebook and Telegram accounts
  • EVENTS
      • Hosted numerous Precinct Delegate sign up events.  Events were located in Troy, Plymouth, South Lyon, and Waterford. 
      • Hosted a Precinct Delegate training event at Big Tommy's in Novi
      • Hosted a series of leadership activist training sessions over the summer of 2022. 
  • HELD REGULAR AND SCHEDULED MONTHLY MEETINGS
  • Based on an Executive Committee vote, held regularly scheduled meetings that were widely promoted and well attended
  • Received reports of various standing committees at each meeting
  • Worked with friendly groups to promote their upcoming programs and events
  • RESOLUTIONS
    • Support for MI Representative Matt Maddock
    • Censure of MI House Speaker Jason Wentworth
    • Censure the MI Legislature for failing to act against Governor Whitmer regarding lockdowns
    • Demand release of the January 6 Patriots
    • Censure MI Legislature for failing to act regarding the Secretary of State’s election policies
    • Censure MI State Senators McBroom, Theis and Bizon for votes related to voting violations
    • Support of laws to insure safe and fair elections

Old District 14

  • INFRASTRUCTURE
      • Built an email list from 0 (yes from zero) to over 2,000 active emails
      • Created a 14th Facebook Page with nearly 500 active followers
      • Created a 14th District website
      • Created a 14th District Twitter account 
  • COMMUNICATIONS
    • First GOP Congressional District to endorse Kristina Karamo for Secretary of State
    • Published monthly 14th District newsletters (widely regarded as the best in Michigan)
    • Published a Black History Month Special Edition Newsletter ( widely read and reproduced)
    • Distributed over 30 Press Releases to statewide media
  • RESOLUTIONS PASSED
    • Expand FOIA in Michigan to include Governor and Legislature
    • Opposition to the National Popular Vote
    • Censure of Congressmen Upton and Meijer
    • Request for a Forensic Audit of the 2020 election
    • Support of Alternate Electors
    • Opposition to Anti-Semitism at the University of Michigan
    • Support of MI laws for MI residents legislation
    • Commend President Trump
    • Opposition to Prop 1 Gas Tax Ballot Proposal - (Prop 1 defeated)
    • Opposition to Civil Asset Forfeiture - (Michigan laws changed)
    • Opposition to Refugee Resettlements (also passed by MIGOP State Committee)    
    • Opposition to State Board of Education LGBTQ Guidelines - (result included GOP candidates elected to SBE)
  • HELD REGULAR AND SCHEDULED MONTHLY MEETINGS
  • Based on an Executive Committee vote, held regularly scheduled meetings that were widely promoted and well attended
  • First ever District goal setting process resulting in goals set for two year cycles
  • Received District Treasurer and similar reports on regular basis
  • Worked with affiliated groups to promote their upcoming programs and events

    • 14th District Law Enforcement Rally  (this event received significant media coverage from WDIV, WJR, WJBK and others)
    •  Lincoln Day Dinners
    •  Walk for Israel Parade (West Bloomfield) (several years)
    •  Flint Bottled Water Collection
  • FUNDRAISERS
  • Voluntary Membership Dues (established a cycle for and collected)
  • 14th’s First ever fundraiser: CPL Class
  • 14th’s First ever Holiday Party Feliz Navidad hosted in Mexican Village
  • 14th’s Second fundraising event: Drawing from Concealment Class
  • Numerous CPL events held, including women only classes
  • Through 2021 numerous Christmas - Hanukkah Parties often held at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club
  • Through 2021, Fall Fest picnics were held at parks located on Lake St. Clair

As a result, campaign checks for tens of thousands were written to dozens of Republican Candidates who ran for various offices in the 14th District during election cycles through 2022
